Data Collection

Save2Plaud collects and processes the following data:

• Plaud authentication token — Stored locally in your browser to access your Plaud account. Never transmitted to any third party.
• YouTube video captions — Extracted from YouTube pages you visit and sent directly to your Plaud account.
• Apple Podcasts transcripts — Extracted from Apple Podcasts pages you visit and sent directly to your Plaud account.
• Spotify transcripts — Extracted from Spotify pages you visit and sent directly to your Plaud account.
• Payment information — Subscription and payment data is collected and processed entirely by Dodo Payments (our Merchant of Record). We do not collect, store, or have access to your credit card or billing details.
• Anonymous product usage events — To understand how the extension is used and to detect bugs, we send a small number of anonymous events (extension installed, popup opened, save attempted, save succeeded, save failed) to PostHog Cloud. Each event is tagged with a randomly generated identifier stored in your browser; we never transmit your email, Plaud token, transcript content, video title, or video URL. You can opt out by uninstalling the extension or by disabling analytics in browser-level privacy controls.

Security Statement

Your transcripts stay between you and Plaud. All transcript data is sent directly from your browser to your own Plaud account. We never see, store, or process your recordings or transcripts. Authentication tokens are stored locally in your browser. Payment is handled securely by Dodo Payments — we never access your billing information.

Data Storage

• All data is stored locally in your browser using Chrome's storage API.
• Transcript data is sent directly from your browser to your Plaud account and never passes through our servers.
• The only server-side component is a subscription verification service that receives only your email address to check payment status.

Third-Party Services

• Plaud API (api.plaud.ai) — Your transcripts are sent to your own Plaud account.
• YouTube (youtube.com) — Captions are fetched from YouTube's public APIs.
• Apple Podcasts (podcasts.apple.com) — Transcripts are fetched from Apple Podcasts pages.
• Spotify (spotify.com) — Transcripts are fetched from Spotify pages.
• Dodo Payments (dodopayments.com) — Used as our Merchant of Record for subscription management and payment processing. Please refer to Dodo Payments' Privacy Policy for details.
• PostHog (us.i.posthog.com) — Used for anonymous product analytics (event counts only, no PII). Please refer to PostHog's Privacy Policy for details.

Data Sharing

We do not sell, share, or transfer any user data to third parties, except as necessary for payment processing through Dodo Payments.
